Welcome Febraury Artist Ellie Kyungran Heo

This February the Spitsbergen Kunstnersenter welcomes Ellie Kyungran Heo. She is an artist who explores socio-ecological solidarity, conflict, and coexistence through time-based media (primarily moving image), installation, and interdisciplinary research. During her Spitsbergen Artists Center residency (supported by Arts Council England), Heo will conduct field research on the arctic tundra, arctic plants, and how local people interact with plants–indoor or, perhaps, in imaginative ways–especially in extreme weather.

Heo will have an exhibition of her work during her three month stay in Svalbard. Date to be announced. Her film Plantarians can be found at https://elliekyungran.com/plantarians
