Welcome Erin Pappas and Mike Laugherty

We welcome US writer and professor Erin Pappas and astrophotographer Mike Laugherty. They will be collaborating on time-lapse photography and creating site-specific soundscapes to amplify the contrast between nature and the ever-present hum of human activity, with a specific focus on human-created light within town as it affects the natural light surrounding Longyearbyen. They will explore the impact of lighting, development, and tourism within this unique and fragile ecosystem
